Baby D&A - 1st pregnancy trimester

This is the picture I took on  January 3rd, 2018, when the pregnancy test came out positive.

I woke up early and full of excitement. I had buterflies in my stomach and I knew and felt that I was going to see those 2 bars. 

My eyes were covered in tears and my whole face was smiling. I couldn't wait to wake up my husband, Dragos, to give him the big news :).

I took the picture, on the left, to mark the moment.

Usually, after holidays, my goal is to get back in shape quickly. But not this time. This time I had a different goal: to have an easy and healthy pregnancy.

Therefore, my dears, you'll see "six pack" pictures from me, next year. :)

After I saw the pregnancy test, I made an appointment to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy, and 7 days later I heard our sweet angel's heartbeat for the first time. 
 

My 1st trimester pregnancy experience

 
Every pregnancy is different. The important thing is to "navigate" this special period in the healthiest and most beautiful way possible. :)

First couple of pregnancy weeks were ok. From the 5th week I started to feel nauseous. Not in the morning, not in the evening, but all the time. But, I did not vomit not even once. I often felt bloated, constipated and very tired.

I kept training my gym classes, although I did gave up some of my classes for good.  I was trying to hide my permanent sickness and I think I did quite a good job.

The start of the year was marked by Herbalife and Adidas events. On top of these,  I had a lot of requests for future projects and events.

It was hard for me to hide my enthusiasm and keep the pregnancy private. I was always looking forward to pass the 1st pregnancy trimester, so I can reveal you the news.

Pregnancy & alimentation

Of course, my alimentation preferences have changed during this period. I cannot say I had those crazy cravings, that pregnant women have, but I can say that my body was craving certain aliments, such as bread. The bread.. brown, homemade, whole grain bread with seeds, it is still bread. But my stomach kept asking for it and was accepting it the easiest. So I listened to my body and I have been eating bread with avocado and vegetables, every day.

Soups and fresh vegetables, such as: carrots, chickpeas, cabbage and roots of celery, were often my evening snacks.

I felt the need of carbohydrates more than ever and I listened to my body. If I did not eat enough, then I was too weak and I could not do my job at the gym, in the first place. Luckily, even with all my nauseous, I was still hungry and able to eat, and as I said before, I did not vomit not even once.
 
I added below a couple of pictures with the meals I consumed the most, in this first trimester of pregnancy, and which were accepted by my body.

This little human wants to grow up, so he/she consumed all my vitamins, proteins and fats etc, so I tried to feed him/her as healthiest as possible.

Regarding the consumed medical drugs: I'm still taking the folic acid, as my doctor instructed me to, but I will most probably stop taking it in about a month.

I'm hydrating myself very much, I'm drinking water all the time. In the first couple of months I consumed a lot of ginger-lemon teas. Especially in the mornings when I had 7 o'clock classes, it really helped me overcome the nauseous.

Now, I'm finally starting to sleep better, because in the first couple of months I used to wake up every 2 hours to go to the toilet. Now all these symptoms are starting to fade, although these days I started to have new symptoms :). Momies, how are you?

Concerning the medical examinations, I did all the examinations recommended by my doctor, but nothing more. There are already so many new things happening to me, so I did not want to expose myself to more examinations than necessary, although I did receive a lot of suggestions from different mothers.

For me, the most important thing is for us to be healthy and go through this period in my own way, in the way I feel the best.

And regarding now... I am on the 4th month and the nauseous have disappeared. I eat a lot healthier and returned to my previous alimentation routine, and I also found out the baby gender. :)
